The Pumpkin Patch

Every year it is a tradition at our house to go to Burt's Pumpkin Farm in Dahlonega, Ga. It's about an hour away from our house but the kids love it. We make it a huge deal every year. We get up early, pack our bags and head out. It takes a little over an hour to get there. When we arrive, there are literally thousands of people there. We trek out to the patch and get a wheelbarrow for the kids to ride in. We have our kodak moments then start the hunt. We are very particular about our choices and everyone gets their own pumpkin. Then we head to the barn to pay. When you walk toward the barn, you start to smell the fresh pumpkin pies, breads and muffins they have baking. It's a tradition each year for us to get a piece of pie, popcorn and frozen lemonade. We then head home exhausted. After we arrive home, the kids and their daddy start carving as I start our tradition Thanksgiving feast. We start off the holiday season with this pre-Thanksgiving dinner of Turkey, dressing and all the fixins. We have our feast then roast pumpkin seeds to watch with the football game last night. I love our family traditions.

Oh I like y'alls traditions. Sounds like a wonderful time at the pumpkin patch and all the great food too! Your kids will remember these great memories y'all are making. It's so great Eve that you are making everything so special for them. You and Steve are great parents.
